    Default rusty water

    When I water the front lawn (closes to water main) I get rusty water in the house

    your supposed to have a anti syphon or vacum breaker thing on your spigot to your lawn watering and your not suposed to have your water to your lawn watering before the main to the house supply.

    Also what BlueRidge is trying to say is that your house is siphioning back water from the sprinkler line and it is being used in the house for use. If the lawn sprinkler line is galvanized this is where the brown water is coming from. I agree that an anti-spihioning hose bib NEEDS to be installed. They are not that expensive compared to a hospital bill if someone gets sick. Process of elimanation. Good luck.
