    Default copper vs plastic

My house is on slab and the plumbing is in my attic. The plumbing is old galvanized pipes and am wondering if I could replumb with pvc piping rather than copper, which is very expensive. Any ideas about plumbing with plastic pipes rather than copper.

I agree with the pex suggestion. It's really easy to work with, and is fairly inexpensive. In your question, you asked about using PVC pipe...if you decide not to go the copper or pex route, you will need to use CPVC pipe (beige in color), and not standard PVC pipe (white in color). CPVC is generally comparable in price to PVC, and is rated for indoor hot/cold water use.
