    Default how close furnace to oil tank

    hello i was thinking of moving my furnace and needed to know whats the minimum distance between oil tank and furnace and where to look at differnt size oil tanks

    You'll have to call your town hall building regs dept---the distance is usually 10', but each town has it's own distance--some towns will modify the distance if a concrete or mortar wall is between the furnace & tank.

    Consult the Yellow Pages under "Heating Equipment" for local fuel oil tank suppliers---there are Roth safety tanks with a double wall that have a much smaller footprint than steel 250 gal tanks.

    Google "Roth tanks", "Granby Tanks", 'Highland tanks", "Bristol tanks"

    the other guy said change system altogether what else is out there natural gas is skyrocketing also. geotherm costs a fortune to install
