    Red face Cracked toilet tank

When re-installing the toilet tank, I neglected the cardinal rule: tighten until half a turn before it cracks. I ended with a smll hairline crack which leaks slowly. Is there a repair?

Nope, can't fix porcelain, you'll need to replace the tank. Sorry.

Thanks. I was afraid of that. I just checked the Vortens web site and see that the tanks are made from vitreous china. Does that make a difference?

No, it's the same thing, for all intents and purposes. Basically the tank/bowl is a ceramic with a glaze, and once it's cracked it's done.
