Default Header size for 8 ft closet opening

I'm framing a closet into a bedroom that will have an 8 foot opening for sliding doors. Since it's not load bearing, I would normally nail 2 2x4's together for the header over this opening, but thought I'd ask here to see if something larger should be used since the opening is so wide.

If the doors are going to be heavy and hung from the header then you can skin each side of the header with 1/4" or thicker plywood to tie it all together. Otherwise, just a framed header will suffice.
