i have pipes in my house that rumble when you turn the water on. I would like to know if there are any simple fixes for this problem?
Re: pipe rumbling
Do all the pipes rumble? Usually when you plumb in a valve or something they usually add an expansion tube in the line. It is simple a Tee in the line with a larger diameter pipe Teed into the line and capped off. This fills with water and acts like a buffer when the water is turned on. The only way to put them in is to replumb each valve. Another possibility is that the pipes are not secured. Pipes must be supported or they will rumble when you turn something on. Is this a new house? Has any work been done like an addition or remodel?
