    Default Corian Sink removal

We have Corian counter tops and a Corian integrated sink. Love the counters hate the sink. I was told it would cost about $500 to remove! Any ideas for do it yourself removal? We will put a drop in Stainless Steel sink.

they come seperate and are epoxied together. corian in its simpliest terms is a plastic. so as long as your stainless steel sink is larger then the outer dimensions of the corian sink you can cut it out with a router. if you use a jig saw it can cause small fractures in the top that may open up and radiate out over time.

also when doing the cut out make sure you support the sink so when you are nearing the end of your cut that it doesn't drop and take out an extra chunk of top with it.

So being told by Corian people and several local countertop dealers we need specialized tools is not correct?

your specalized tool would be a router. that is what they tell you to try to make sure you go through an authorized dealer.
