Question Frost on walls and windows

I just went on an walk trough in a house that i would like to buy. However they had the heat turned off. Their is now frost on a lot of the walls and windows. The walls are the old plaster type. What kind of problems can occur once the heat is back on? Also is their anything i can do to prevent them? Oh ya i live in the great state of Minnesota so it gets cold.

No great damage to the plaster.
worst possibility is some cracks from expansion, not a big problem.
The paint will peel and crack.
Paint will become detatched from the plaster surface.
If wall paper is over plaster it will roll back at corners and seams.
