    Default Drain Backing up

I own a home that was built late 60's that still has a working Septic system. No problems there & it is maintained. Problem is with the drain field I can not even do 1 load of wash without the drain backing up. I am able to force water tru the line with a pluming fixture that you hook up to your outdoor hose and water goes thru but as soon as you try to let the wash water go thru the same drain it backs up (no pressure behind it to force it out ?). What can I do short of getting hooked up to city sewer ? Is there a fixable solution for drain fields we have had a large amount of rain this year.

If you have a fairly new washer and an old discharge line it may not be adequate. Most newer washer require a 2" or larger drain.
