    Default pool drainage repair

The previous owner of the home retiled the lanai, and in doing so he tiled over the pool overflow drain. This ran the length of the lanai and looks to be a concrete gutter a couple of inches wide and deep. On both ends of the lanai this gutter is open.

I'm imagining that I need to take the tile off of the drain and find some drain covers somewhere, but what I need to know is how to properly drain the overflow water. I don't think that it would be appropriate to pour pool water with its chemical content into the yard.

    Any ideas?

Bill, I think you are talking about a Deck-O-Drain, it suppose to be open on the ends if it is. Its not really for the pool overflow. The gutter is to collect rain water so the lania wont flood out. Its ok if it drains into the yard....
