    Default New baseboard nasty odor

I had some baseboard heating installed and it is emitting a noxious smell. The plumber said it would go away in three days and it is one week later.

Can anyone give me any information about this? I have to leave the house and put the heat on and then open the windows and then come back home and sleep without the heat since I am sure it is very unhealthy to breathe?!

    Thanks!

It might be a critter---take a strong flashlight & see if you can see anything between the front covers and the aluminum fins.

A mouse or small snake may have been attracted by the warmth & then expired when it got too hot.

Actually.....the original reason I had it replaced was due to mice, which I have now gotten rid of.

The odor is from some kind of coating in the baseboard element which CANNOT be healthy to breathe.

Does anyone know of any other healthier alternatives? I have a dog and a kid?!

    Any insights would be great!
