    Default Under door ventilation

Can anyone tell me how much of a gap should exist under an interior door (e.g., closet, bathroom, bedroom). My spouse insists a huge gap is necessary for proper ventilation. As a result, none of the doors in our house look like they fit properly.

Depends .... I've seen anywhere from 3/4 to 1 1/2 inches with the larger gaps for rooms without air returns for HVAC equipment.

    Hope this helps.

just curious-how much are the doors undercut?
Usually what canuk said if needed for return air, typically needed in bathrooms. In other rooms just what is needed to clear the floor finish.
