    Default Mystery pipe

I have a mystery pipe in one of the bedroom closets. What is the best way to figure out what it is? The bedroom is above the living room and there is no visible plumbing . There is a fireplace on that wall in the living room.

    Thanks for the responses.
Can it be removed? Or is it best to leave alone. Who would I call a HVAC co?
The closets are all small. I need every inch of space.

To me that looks like a "T" on the top with one leg going through the wall and one leg pluged, and about 1" in diamater. It may be a gas line that was used to feed heaters or gas lights.
