    Default Wall prep before painiting

Two layers of wallpaper have been stripped off a drywall base. In several spots the brown paper of the drywall is exposed. The largest area is 4"x6". Looking for suggestions on how best to repair. Current thinking is the adhesive mesh covered by 2 to 3 layers of joint compound. Any other recommendations? Thanks.

That should work but be sure to sand between coats that you overlap into the good spots. If you can feel the transition between the areas you will see it when the paint is dry.
