    Talking rocking toilet

if your toilet rocks to a different tune and you don't particularily want to replace the whole floor to fix the problem(which can be costly) , all you have to do is set the toilet as well as you can, pull out a tube of white silicone and squeeze out the whole tube around the perimeter making sure that your generous with it enough so that it gets underneath the edge of the toilet so it makes a gasket between the toilet and the floor. Next you put some dishsoap on a 1" putty knife and drag it around the circumference of the toilet to smooth out the silicone. The next day go back with a utility knife and carefully cut any excess silicone on the floor around the toilet and your done! That toilet will never rock again! Not only that but it will barely be noticeable. cheers,Derek
p.s. if you have a colored toilet, use clear silicone!

This is the kind of idiotic stunt that might be expected from a homeowner that doesn't know any better & is too cheap to fix the problem correctly. It will only cause worse damage in time.

You give contractors a bad name.

gotta agree w/ dave. After the toilets been rocking the wax seal is likely to be compromised & will end up leaking & causing more damage. The proper thing to do is remove the toilet & shim it properly & install the biggest wax ring available. Setting the toilet carefully is important too. Not that difficult, but a little mysterious until you do it. A little research ****** will help if you've never done it before.

Basically whatever it takes. If the toilets been rocking their a good chance the sub floor is rotted & need patching. It may not actually need any shims, just a new wax ring.

You can also use Grout. I use the clear Polyethelene shims they cover up real nice with clear dap. Depends on the floor surface and the situation a per my method.
