Default Removing Construction Adhesive From Brick?

I guess this is the best forum for this...

I pulled some wood trim from around my fireplace base that was attached with construction adhesive. I cannot figure out how to get the adhesive off, though. I've tried Goo GOne with a wire brush, steel wool and scraping, and nothing works. Any ideas?

I recently had to deal with something rather similar, construction adhesive on the back of granite base board. use a hand held torch and heat up the adhesive and sc**** off with a putty knife. I use map gas. be sure not to hold the heat on the brick for to long. map gas heats up to 5301 degrees and will do damage if held on for to long.
