Default Trex railing for concrete steps

We have a front door and side door and both have the same big, unattractive concrete steps. Taking the concrete steps out is not an economical option. We need to add hand railings as there are none.

We like the idea and look of wood railings and are considering trex material. Besides the hand railings, we wonder if we could have trex placed over the concrete steps and side walls to hide the concrete. Is it okay to place trex directly on concrete?

    Thanks.

I am facing the same problem / solution. What did you decide to do?

I can not see any reason you couldn't build the steps over the existing ones. I am not a carpenter but it is my opinion
