My husband and I are in the middle of complete home and yard renovations. During Hurricane Ivan our wooded backyard was emptied by a tornado. The tornado picked up 5 large hardwood trees, twisted them together and dropped them in the middle of the backyard. We cleared as much as we could and gave up! We have just recently had a clearing company completely clear the debris pile...oh my god!...we have a wasteland! We are currently in the process of having 3 loads of topsoil put in the war zone...and we want to sod the area. What preparations do we need to do to the yard between dirt distribution and sod placement? What is the best drought tolerant grass? The area is about 1/3 acre. We appreciate any help.
