Question Is foam insulation directly on brick ok?

I'm finding mixed feedback in trying to determine whether using spray foam insulation (e.g. Icynene) directly on the inside of exterior brick walls (house was built 1860s). Will this type of insulation still allow moisture from the brick to dissipate/evaporate on the inside through the foam? So is it safe or will it create a problem with moisture build-up?

if you are spraying directly on brick/block/rock, i would recommend you use a 2lb closed cell foam. Icynene is a .5lb open cell product and when it gets wet from moisture or water, it is a nightmare to fix.
