    uhmmm -------It's understood there are no fixtures at the old hidden boxes since they were hidden --I was asking about the existing light.

    The overhead light has two white and a red pigtailed to the white of the light, a black for the black and a red. The light was working fine, but I was going to replace it during the process as soon as I got power back to make sure the wiring was correct for the new one.

    Sorry, but what you have posted makes little sense. I would suggest you hire an electrician to straighten out the mess.
