    Question Elevated driveway bracing

A portion of my driveway, about 30 feet, is elevated between the last firm earth and the 3rd floor garage, a distance above the ground averaging about 25 feet. It is wood framed from the firm earth (a thick concrete wall, actually) to a center beam, (8x18 held up by 3 8x8 posts) to the garage wall. The center beam is braced with 2x8s in an "X" bracing, which I want to modify. I have build steps down from the driveway to the ground, between two of the 8x8 posts, and the X-bracing hits me smack in the face as I walk down the stairs. I would like to change the bracing, but cannot seem to find anything on the subject. Any chance you could give me a quick course on bracing? Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks heaps!!!

    Default Re: Elevated driveway bracing

Basically the structure needs to be triangulated, which has been done with the X bracing. It could possibly be modified for your stair.
A diagram or pictures would help to understand the situation.
