    Default Adding Insulation Question

I just watched the video on adding insulation to my attic. Currently, there is one layer of insulation with the vapor barrier facing up (I live in Los Angeles, so we cool more than heat). If I add another layer, should I peal the vapor barrier off the existing layer before adding the new layer or should I just add the new layer with the vapor barrier on the new layer also facing up?

A recommendation ..... buy unfaced insulation .... it also may cost less than the faced saving some $$.

Pull up the existing faced layer.... lay down the unfaced layer in it's place ... then relay the faced over top.

It'll be less hassle than trying to peal off the paper from the existing insulation.

    Hope this helps.
