We converted our deck into a conservatory (a UK CO.) after very careful research. It is beautiful EXCEPT the room temp. gets up to 110 degrees or higher. Even with roof vents, tinted roof and AC, the room is unbearable. The company offers KOOLKOTE for those in the UK, but unless you purchase it on e-bay and I question the directions or if I apply it,my 10 year guarantee on the room
will be void. The company is slow to respond to my need to keep the room cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Shades and blinds will not do the job. Has anyone else had this problem and if so do you have a solution?
Re: hot conseratory
growers with greenhouses often put shadecloth over the exterior to keep out the sun. Maybe not a aesthetically pleasing option.
The only way to keep it cool is to keep the sun out.
Shade trees will help, but of course they would take years to grow large enough.
Don't know the product you mention & I don't see how it would help with warmth in the winter. Their is no way to keep a green house warm in the winter without a lot of heat & insulated glass.
