    Default Water treatment magnets

I am looking for input regarding the effectiveness of magnets used to condition household water. There are several manufacturers who provide testimonials from users who claim they experienced very good results. I have a Sears water softener that needs replacement and I am looking for an alternative method to treat the water. Thanks

    Default Re: Water treatment magnets

I have used them on commercial cooling towers and they don't work on commercial applications with a much more aggressive environment. I have not seen nor has the chemical treatment company seen an improvement other than collecting some welding slag or shavings( which is important in this field).Thats not to say that the small lower flow and capacity of residential use doesn't work. But The magnet system we used was about $500-$1000 worth.if the company can show you results on your system not some system in another town or state then try it.Chemicals cost more in the long run.
