    Default Sill Plate Replacement

I need to replace a rotted sill plate on my house. It was exposed where a previous owner had installed a deck. The entire 18' section from the corner of the house to where it meets the addition is toast.
8' basement, patio sliding door above the sill.
Advice, tips, ect. would be great
    thanks

That's a big project. Basically you need to temporarily jack up the floor joists along the wall, cut out the sill plate and replace it. I'd recommend asking around and finding a friend or co-worker that's done it before. They can give you some good advice. Without seeing your house and the existing conditions it's pretty hard to spell it all out.
