    Default ?Power Washing Moldy Gutters/Soffits

Can we safely power wash moldy alum gutters/vinyl soffits without causing water damage from water shooting up into the soffits and soaking the interior walls/ceilings?? This is the 3 story back of our house where we can't hand/brush wash it. Any other suggestions?

Alum gutters yes, providing you watch the direction the wand is pointed so you don't blast water under the roofing and under the fascia.vinyl soffits , it's no a good idea. The vinyl soffits generallyis just setting in a "J" or "F" channel and if vented has holes that will allow the spray into the underside of the roof and with enough pressure you can actually blow the sections out.

My gutters aren't up as high as yours (Cape Cod home) but, when they became moldy, I used a pump-up style sprayer with a 50-50 mix of bleach and water. Be sure to tarp any plants that you like or at the very least wet them down and wear old clothes! Spray the bleach mixture onto the moldy areas, wait 5-10 minutes and then rinse it off with a hose. Be careful if your house isn't white, it may soon be white!
