    Default refinishing trim &floor

I am going to refinish my pine floors and I have 8" trim with 1/4 round around the bottom, can I poly the trim and 1/4 round with the floor or should I take off 1/4 round and replace with new after the floors are done?

I would reccomend removing the base shoe. This speeds up the application of the finish by giving you some room for error around the walls. If you exercise a little patience, you can save the old trim and reinstall it after the floor is done. In the long run, this would be the smartest approach, because the old stuff is already finished and fit to the room. You need only fill some nail holes and apply an extra coat of finish/paint.

Ditto on what kenneth said, plus if you reuse the old round you won't have to fight with stain to make it match the baseboard.
