We just bought this 32 year old house. I know we need new windows, and a storm door on the back, but the man leak of cold air is in the kitchen, right above the stove. There is a vent hood above the stove. The fan does not work, and the little filter is so covered in grease I'm shocked air can move through it. Yet massive amounts of cold air pour in from here all the time. The former owner put electrical tape over the intake vents on the front of the hood to prevent some of that air from hitting your face as you sand there and cook.

I want my honey to try and do something to keep the cold air out.
