    Default Need more humitity

We have a log cabin in the foothills of SC. We use it almost every weekend and when we have time off. We have a gas furnace and just added a whole house Humidifier. We are having problems getting the humidity up in the house. The air handler is in the unfinished basement (full). The humidistat is next to the return duct. Any idea will be greatly appreciated.

Is it an atomising humidfier -or pan with gray media.Has the unit been serviced.Sometimes the water fill valve gets crusty.
I don't live far from you and have an HVAC license and fly fish as well-I could find a reason to drive -to I guess your not far from Greenville or Brevard (Davidson river is my favorite). If not I know some folks that could help you down that way.

I would be pleased to have you check out our humitity problem. In fact I was going to find someone to help us check out the home for leaks. Sounds like thats what you do. I will try to send private note. Thanks for the help.

I don't know if I would trust Infaredsurvey or not, the last time he went on a job like that it took him 2 months, hope you have lots of groceries. Fly fishing is very time consuming.

Looks like I better stock up on cheese crackers. I will have to stock the pond so we can catch dinner. That heating stuff is far more complicated then I thought. It doesn't help that I got marginal HVAC contractors to start with. Thanks for all the help..
