    Default Basement wall leak

I need to repair a leak in a basement wall in a 50 year old house in Baltimore. Hydraulic cement manufacturers suggest a dovetail type slot be cut for the best results. What is the best way to achieve this for an interior space? The best suggestion I have heard to date is to use a circular saw with a diamond blade.

You need to find the source of the leak.If its from ground water then the best thing to do is fix it from the outside. Is it possible to dig near the leak and apply water proofing or divert the water?
    just a thought
