Cool remodeling house with part being a log cabin built in 1857

We've added a room addition 24'X20' on the north side of the house. When this house was built in 1857 it was a one room log cabin. Over the years additions were made and finally the entire house was covered in clampboard siding. When we started the addition we stripped all the siding off the north side, in doing this we exposed a portion of the log walls. Now that this portion is inside tha family room now i need some to preserve the log wall. The exposeed portion has a mixture of clay between the logs as a filler. My problem is i ned to cover this wall with some kind of sealer to preseve the clay so that it won't fall out
