Hello. I live in a 90 year old Chicago brick bungalo. We just had drain tiles and sump pit installed on the north wall of our basement, due to water coming up at the base of our walls during heavy rain storms. This work was done almost 2 weeks ago. About 4 days ago we started smelling an organic decomposition smell. This smell has gotten significantly worse. It is coming from the area behind the baseboard they put up to allow water to go behind into the gravel if the wall was to leak. We have also noticed that the concrete at the opposite end of the sump pump, where the smell is more prominent, also does not appear to have cured properly (perhaps it is still wet?). I have no idea what to do.
