Default how to prep subfloor for laminate?

we removed the (very nasty) carpet out of my daughter's bedroom in our "new" (used) house to install laminate flooring. the subfloor was wooden, but too uneven to install the laminate, so we removed it, only to find the cement slab to be even worse. it is almost like a hump in the center, with the corners being lower, 1/2 to 1 inch!!! what now?
any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    thanks

    1. You could use leveling compund to level the floor or
    2. Put down furring strips leveled with shims and plywood on top.
