    Default Sump Pump

I have just replaced my submersible sump pump and I notice that it will periodically not shut-off. I have found that the float will rest against the side of the pit and prevent the shut-off. I have repositioned the pump but can't seem to keep it level.

Would it be a bad idea to place an object in the pit for the pump to rest on to keep it level; i.e. a round patio stone?

I don't want to burn up the pump so I need to come up with some kind of solution. Thanks.

I think a patio stone to keep it level would be a good idea. You still may need to find a way to secure it to the stone so it doesn't vibrate around & cause the same problem, especially if it fell off the paver.

    Ditto what ed21 said.
