Is it both the tub/shower and the sink or only one of the two?

Sinks can get hair clogs around the pop-up stopper and actuation lever. Reach under the sink, around the back of the drain and unscrew the nut that holds the actuation rod in place. Pull out the rod and clean any debris off the tip. Lift the stopper out and clean around it's length. Reassemble (note: Pay attention to the position of the stopper when you pull it out of the drain and reinsert it the same way ). At this point I like to fill the sink with water, then let it drain all at once. This will help flush any debris that you broke loose by removing the stopper, as well as the trap.

Another problem spot is the trap. Some of the cleansers and facial products that ladies use can settle into the bottom of the trap, eventually plugging it. This is a little more involved to remove and clear. Clean out the cabinet and put a dishpan or other catch basin under the trap. Loosen the nuts and slowly lower the trap from the sink. Dump the trap into the catch bin. You may or may not need to take it outside to a hose to blast out the interior - you decide. Make sure all the mating surfaces are clean, then reassemble and fill basin with water to let out all at once. This will test the trap for leaks after the reinstallation.

Tubs require removing the overflow escutcheon to be able to snake it.
