    Question Knob and Tube

    Hello,

My house was built in 1870 and it has knob and tube wiring. I recently read on TOH that insulation covering knob and tube wire can cause it to over heat. Since the only insulation I have in my house is in the attic should I isolate the wiring from the insualtion some how (uncover it)?

    Thanks

Knob and tube wiring should not be covered with insulation it was designed for air circulation to dissipate the heat.

    I agree 100%
Funny thing is here in Central Penna, you will find many old homes where exactly that was done. Go figure.
