    Default mold removal on walls

We own an apartment in a building probably built in the late 30's or early 40's. We have mold on the walls surrounding our bathroom. Can we replace the walls where the mold is or should we hire a professional? Is there more to mold removal than replacing the wall?

while you are contemplating the mold removal you also need to try to determine the source of the moisture (mold needs moisture to grow) simply replacing the wallboard with out fixing a moisture problem and you will be back where you are now in a period of time. is it leaky pipes from another apartment? is it taking hot showers causing condensation on the walls? is it water splashing off the side of the tub?
