    Default replacing ballasts

Can I replace magnetic ballasts with electronic ballasts? My four bulb fluorescent fixtures currently have the following magnetic ballasts, MB2x40/120 (120V, 60Hz, 0.74 Amps, 280 Voc).

You sure can. We have replaced thousands and thousands of them. If you currently have T-12 lamps you might think about changing to T-8's or even T-5's.

The wiring to the lamp sockets will be a little different but every ballast will have a wiring diagram on it and you can use the same sockets with T-8 lamps.

Sometimes it is cheaper and quicker just to buy a new fixture.
