I have an 1808 Federal colonial home in Wickford, Rhode Island and am seeking information as to how to prevent what I call powdering of the interior brick walls on my ground level Tavern room. The walls are exposed to the interior of the room and are above ground level. Every once in a while I notice fine red powder on the ground near the walls. I am concerned, since it will eventually damage the brick. Is there a treatment I can do to prevent this from reoccurring? Hope this is the right format to seek help on this issue. Thanks.
Mike
