    Default old steel drain pipe to cast iron

    i have a old house and replaced the drain from the bath tub a 2" steel pipe to the down septic cast iron i replaced it with p v c i left in the lead or what ever it is around the old steel now i got a leak there with the p v c i tried to punch the lead closer to the p v c and used plumber putty and a silicone still a leak just a seep but can't have that any ideas other than digging out the old lead or putting back in a steel nipple

    Remove the PVC, remove the lead (neatly) and then install one of these rubber couplings....
