The previous owner of my 1896 victorian farmhouse, put stucco texture coating on the inside of the house on the walls. Now that I have lived here for a few years, it is has many stress cracks and needs a lot of repair. The coating texture is thick and rough. It holds dirt.
I need to know how to repair the cracks, remove, or tone down the texture so The walls can be cleaned and painted. Underneath, the texture coat is the original plaster walls. Every wall in every room, I've painted, so far, has had to have multiple cracks taped and repaired.I'm afraid to try to peal the stuff off and the walls fall apart.
Please help.
