    Default Sound Proofing Floor/Ceiling

I plan to add a second floor to my current range house to make a two story house. What is the best way to soundproofing the floor/ceiling to reduce/eliminate the footfall/impact/airborne noise between the ground floor and second floor. Any recommendation on the products in the market to solve the problem. Thanks.

Foam insulation might be a good choice.

Foam is actually the worst choice. Counter-intuitive as that sounds, it's lab-proven to be the case.

Standard R19 fiberglass is as good as it gets.
