    Default Motion Sensor Wall Switch

I am interested in installing a motion sensor wall switch in my garage. The Sensor wall switch package says it can only be used with magnetic ballests, not electric ballest when using with flourecent lights. I have 8 flourecent shop lights in the garage, but I have no idea how to tell if they are electric ballests or magnetic ballests. Any ideas?

One way to tell is by the type of lamp in the fixtures.

If they are T-12's they will be an inch and a half in Diam and magnetic.

If they are T-8's they will be an inch in Diam and most likely electronic.

What he said and if there not electronic its a real inexpensive upgrade,

they also make sensors that will integrate into your garage door opener and turn the lights on (entry lights foyer etc)when you hit the remote in your car (off topic but pretty cool)
