Default Attaching a banaster to a wall

I have to attach a level banister end to a wall. The original builder used a nail at the end and drove it into the wall. Lazy shortcut and it's pulled out of the wall. What can I use that will butt the end of the banister to the wall in a more secure manner?
I'm talking about a short banister on a second floor landing that runs parallel with the floor and butts to the wall.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for nothing. I figured it out myself.

Glad you were able to figure it out.

I use a rail bolt kit, but in the case mentioned here, the wall takes the place of the newel post.

The 302 kit would work fine.

I prefer to install a half newel to the wall and bolt the rail to that (see photo for half newel). Looks better than a rail bolted to the wall or a rosette.

I hope to answers some old questions here and bury a few of the threads by the Spam Trolls.

    Cheers,
