    Unhappy Refinishing Pine Wood Floors

I had my Pine wood floor refinished by a professional. I had a stain applied to wood after sanding. I used Provinical stain by Dura Seal. It has a lot of red tent and shows too much detail in the wood. One coat of Polyrethane has been applied and another coat will be applied in two days.
I don't like the way it looks.
Has anyone had this problem on staining pine wood?
Will appreciate any advice on what can be done.
    Thanks,

You only have two choices. Put the 2nd coat of poly on and live with it or sand the whole thing down to the bare wood and use a different stain. Make sure that you use a pre conditioner on pine or it will accept the stain unevenly.

    Hunt,

Capt is correct, you should have used a pre-stain conditioner to help control the stain absorbtion on the unevenly porous pine flooring. But that is water under the bridge.

As to the stain looking too red, short of stripping the whole floor again, you might try mixing a little green tint into the following coats of urethane to moderate the red look. Try a sample first to see if it results in the desired look. Short of that, back to the sander!
