    Default Staples

What is the best way to remove staples from a wood floor. I bought an old house and padding for the carpet was stapled to the floor boards.

There's usually bits of pad left under those staples, making it easy to grab them with pliers or get a flat screwdriver under them. I tend to prefer side cutters for most pulling chores because they bite a little better than pliers and they have better leverage.

Utility knife will get under tight staples easily enough. Loosen then grab with pliers or side cutters and pull.
