Hi all,

We recently bought a 1910 house and one of the early projects I'm doing is to replace the leaky, antique toilets with more water efficient ones (while trying to match the style-- not easy). I just removed the first, and I discovered that it did not have a recognizable/modern PVC or iron closet flange. It appears to be a copper flange-like fitting leading down about 6-8 inches into a cast iron waste pipe. There was no wax ring. The toilet was secured to the floor via four bolts into the subfloor.

Does anyone have recommendations on how to add a flange so I can install the new toilet?

Thanks,
Matt
