I am recaulking my shower enclosure and have removed most of the existing silicone caulk except for some residue that I can not remove with a scrapper.
I have heard that rubbing alcohol is one way to remove the residue. I am concerned though if this will harm the ceramic tile, grout, aluminum frame or shower pan. I will be using silicone caulk and want to ensure good adehesion.
I've not found anything that will remove silicone residue, if you try rubbing alcohol, let us know how it goes. As for the alcohol harming anything, it will be just fine.
