Default Ceiling fan won't turn off

    Hi,

I just hung a ceiling fan with a light fixture. My outlet box had the white, black, and ground wires. I connected the ground wires and also connected the white wire to the white wire on the fan. I then connected the black wire coming out of the outlet box to both the black and blue wires from the fan. I thought this would allow me to control the light by the wall switch and the fan by the pull chain. However, when I flip the switch the light turns on but so does the fan. The chain that controls the fan does nothing and I can't find a way to stop the fan. I'd very much appreciate any thoughts on what I've done wrong and how I can fix this problem!

    Thanks,

    Dave

It's all set. Seems the pull chain wasn't completely working (although it appeared to be), but it's ok now. This is what i get with Hampton Bay products....

    Glad it was that easy.

It looks good and the price was right may I guess?
