Default Outside thermometer to control furnace temperature

I heard on Ask TOH about an outside thermometer that can be installed to change the temperature of your furnace based on the outside temperature. It's supposed to save energy by not having the furnace reset to a too high temperature if the outside air temperature is not too cold. Is this something a homeowner can install and what brand would be recommended?

That would be for a boiler, the outside reset will adjust the Boiler water temp according to the outside temp. If it is warmer outside the reset will keep the Boiler from running to long keeping the water temp. in the boiler down, and the colder it gets the hotter the boiler will run till it gets to desired temp setting. Good Luck!!!
